Granted the paint is a few months old.

As posted last weekend, I detailed my girlfriends car. We’ve seen some snow/rain this week and the car lives outside but it still looks like it’s been just washed. The shine, feel and overall condition of the wolfgang seems a lot better this time around. The tire dressing seems to be holding up too. I bought Opti Bond from optimum when I got into detailing, but also purchased Gyeon Later in the year. I find that gyeon will come off quite quickly, especially after a rain. Opti bond was used here and still stays mostly intact. I think I’ll be moving along with that. On top of it, my girlfriend loves it so that always helps.

I have washed the new hotness weekly but haven’t gotten a chance for a decon, clay and seal for this. I will hopefully do it tomorrow unless my new detailing goodies don’t show up in time. I’m thinking later in the year I will step up the seal game and move to a Jescar Powerlock/Collinite 845 Combo. I also need a better quality clay. For now, this will get a wolfgang seal, barring if I can’t derail it fully for two weeks and change my mind in the meantime (which is normal for me). The hot pepper red hides dirt much better than the Kona. I got an oil change this week and my old kona is still on the lot and was FILTHY. This looks presentable in the picture but is quite dirty.

If you want to get into detailing yourself, it’s not hard but requires research, care and paying attention to the details. I’m in quite a few detailing groups on Facebook that have a lot of good (also OCD) knowledge. Svend is also a really great resource on here.

I just had my car detailed in my driveway by a professional, and watching and getting an explanation gives me a better appreciation for the value and knowledge involved in doing it well.

I spend more time than I care to admit watching those kinds of videos. A few of my coworkers have seen my work with the kona and wanted me to do their cars. I always say I’ll do it for free because it’s just a cathartic hobby for me. I don’t think I’m anywhere near the quality of what you could charge someone for. There is so much that goes into each step of a detail it can be mind blowing. I’d definitely say it’s an art.

I gave the Gyeon Bathe+ a go, 15-20ml in the bottle of a snow foam lance, 3-5ml of Gyeon Wetcoat Essence and topped to half a litre and snow foamed onto the car, light agitation and then pressured rinsed off then towel dried with a Gtechniq MF4 Diamond Sandwich microfibre.

Behaved just like CarPro HydroFoam.

Handy when time is a factor.

I ordered some gwash which is what I’ve been waiting for. I got so caught up in all the other stuff I forgot I was still using random store brand wash. Considering all the other products I use, once I stopped being complacent I ordered it lol

Lol. The only time I buy something instore is when I urgently need accessories such as microfibres, but even then they get used once on door shuts and engine bays and binned soon after.

I need some more Gwash but have enough to last till summer kicks in.

Same for me now too. It’s more expensive obviously but you get what you pay for, as you know. The quality of the wash and look is simply x100 better

Check forums for discount codes.

Many have discount days for national occasions such as christmas, halloween, etc...

Forums are one of the few places I don’t go anymore actually. I used to be more active but now that I finished school last year and got a job that takes my time I don’t reallt use my personal computer.ill have to start using them. On the bright side, my Gwash showed up. The rest should hopefully be here before I run out of detailing time tomorrow.

I’m on a big site and for about four years was on it a lot, but in the last three years, I glance at it and look at the discount codes when I need something ordered and to see what’s new.
